In the paint industry,titanium dioxide is widely used as a white or light coloured pigment.Usually,Pepple used lithopone, titanium dioxide or zinc oxide as a white pigment. By the reason of some synthetic resin coating on polymerization degree is bigger, if adding zinc white, because the white is alkaline, the paint have free fatty acid and thickening tendency; if adding lithopone, the paint has poor weather resistance. But the titanium dioxide can avoid all the defects. Titanium dioxide particles are small and uniform, high optical stability.In hiding power, rutile type titanium dioxide is 7 times than zinc oxide and 5.56 times than lithopone; anatase type titanium dioxide is 5.57 times than zinc oxide and 4.3 times than lithopone. In the achromatic aspect, rutile type titanium dioxide is 8.3 times than zinc oxide and 6.25 times than lithopone; anatase type titanium dioxide is 6.4 times than zinc oxide and 4.8 times than lithopone.
